Property Description

Beautiful 2 bedroom apartment with use of villagio pool, 10 minute walk to sandy beach. Situated on the scenic North East Coast of Sardinia, close to the famous Costa Smerelda.

Built in traditional style with high beamed ceilings, this attractive apartment is set in pretty Mediterranean gardens, in a quiet location on a hill in Pittulongu.

The apartment is set on the ground floor, with nothing above. It is very comfortably furnished with everything you would require for a successful family holiday. Case di Volpe is professionally maintained and we go out to Sardinia on a regular basis so keep the standards up.

There are no owners possessions cluttering up the apartment, as they are locked away in the third bedroom.

The apartment has two terraces. A large covered shady lower terrace, opening onto a small private walled garden. This terrace is very private and not overlooked, and is comfortably furnished to provide a seating area with a large sofa, two chairs and a coffee table, and a dinning area with a round table and four chairs. Whilst the upper solarium terrace is furnished with a sofa, two chairs and a coffee table, and is a great place to sunbath or relax in the evening sipping an aperitif whilst enjoying uninterrupted views across to Isola Tavolara and Golfo di Olbia.

There are two double bedrooms, sleeping four maximum, the master bedroom has a double bed, and the second bedroom has twin beds. We can provide a cot and high chair available at no extra cost, but must be reserved on booking.

There are two shower rooms, there is a washing machine Italian style in one of the shower rooms.

The main living area is open plan, and features a well stocked kitchen with a fridge freezer and dishwasher. The lounge area has an L shaped sofa and coffee table.

The property is furnished to a high standard, and benefits from unlimited free wifi, optional air conditioning/heating, and covered allocated parking.

There is also use of a communal pool, in season only (early June to mid September) surrounded by a sunbathing terrace, and beautiful views, there is also a life guard on duty.

The apartment is ideal for a family holiday or for a couple wanting a quiet romantic break. We can also cater for groups of friends who may wish to holiday together, but reside separately, as in the same location we also have two three bedroom villas with their own private swimming pools. When our children were young we had villa holidays, so we have tried to think about what our guests require in a holiday home. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, we provide a freezer bag and blocks, a beach umbrella, buckets and spades, games and books.

We have a local English lady who looks after the property for us, who speaks both English and fluent Italian, she and we are always on hand for our guests.

We have been letting out this apartment since 2009, and have a proven track record of happy holiday makers, many of whom return to us on a regular basis. With my long standing experience all guests receive comprehensive paperwork throughout the booking process, and when you arrive you will find an information folder. Along with a welcome pack of wine, water, milk, tea, coffee and sugar.

Case di Volpe is situated in Pittulongu, which is perfect all year round, and is an ideal base for guests who want a stunning location, yet be close to good amenities. Pittulongu is known for its 1.5km beach of white sand, this is our nearest beach and is just a 10 minute walk away. Locally to us are some of the best beaches in Europe, all with beautiful white sand and crystal clear waters. Locally we have a well-stocked supermarket, and a fish and bread shop, as well as some great restaurants and bars. The nearest restaurants are situated along the beach, and all offer a good selection of pasta, pizza and fish and views over the bay.

Olbia is just a 10 minute drive away, and is a bustling city and port (although more the size of an English town). Here you will find all the facilities you would expect, a good selection of shops, restaurants, bars, banks, a fantastic archaeological museum, roman remains and a hospital.

Olbia airport is just 20 minutes drive, Alghero airport is 1.5 hour drive straight across the island, and Cagliari is a 4 hour drive down south.

Pittulongu is also ideally sited to explore the beautiful coastline, the renowned Costa Smeralda, or Emerald coast, the marinas of Porto Cervo and Porto Rotondo, and the unspoilt and little known interior of the island.

For our booked guests exclusively we have arranged family friendly yacht charter on a 41ft catamaran and a motor yacht, both with English spoken skippers.
Available on request at very good rates from June to September.

Water sports, tuition and hire of paddle boards, windsurfers, dinghies and ribs are available locally.

Sardinia is a paradise for sports enthusiasts with a wide range of sports available locally from cycling to caving to golf on one of the prettiest golf courses in the world, the renowned Pevero Golf Club.

There is a fun water park nearby.

Most towns have colourful markets during the week, with the eclectic Thursday morning market in the mountain village of San Panteleo a must.

In the main summer months there are also night markets in Olbia and Golfo Aranchi which are always fun to wander around.

Sardinia is a great location for immersing yourself in local traditions and history, and is famous for it various colourful festivals held throughout the year. In August there is a world famous jazz festival, along with various important yachting events throughout the year.

Getting to Sardinia, and Olbia specifically is very easy and quick from the UK, other European cities, and even Russia, North America and Canada.

Even better with three airports on the island, and four major ferry ports, you can choose between flying and catching a ferry.

Sardinia is often called the ‘Caribbean of the Mediterranean’, but is just a 2.5 hour flight time from most European cities, so unlike the Caribbean there is no long haul flight, and better still no jet lag!! An early morning flight into Olbia will get you to our location before lunch, so by early afternoon you could be swimming in the sea or the pool.

Olbia benefits from both an airport and ferry port so you have the choice of either flying, or driving and arriving by ferry. Flying into Olbia is the best solution, as the airport is only a 20 minute drive, so a nice quick and easy transfer when you arrive. Olbia airport is south of the city, and we are north along the coast.

Easyjet flies into Olbia from London Gatwick, Luton, as well as Bristol and Manchester.
Meridiana flies into Olbia from London Gatwick.
BA flies into Olbia in season from London Heathrow.
In season June to October there are also charter flights from Birmingham and Stanstead.

You could also consider a two location holiday flying into Olbia and spending time with us, and then going onto Corsica, or down south to Cagliari, or onto mainland Italy, all of which are served by Easyjet flights.

Olbia ferry port is even closer, so the other way to get to us is by ferry from mainland Italy, or indeed from France via Porto Torres on the west coast.

We always advise our guests to hire a car, as it seems a shame to come this fantastic island and not be able to explore the beautiful coastline and the unspoilt interior. Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds.

Easy quick and safe payment via bank electronic transfer which allows for a ‘real time’ paper trail.

Please note that the price quoted INCLUDES linen, towels and final clean. Any additional linen and towels, and cleaning can be arranged locally, and paid for in Euros direct to our representative. You need to take your own swimming towels.

The only extra charge is for optional air conditioning/heating, which is available at a cost of £50 per week, unfortunately we have to charge this due to the high cost of electricity.

Breakage deposit of £200 payable with the final balance, and returned when the apartment has been checked, and you are home.

As Olbia Council now charges a Tourist Tax, we the property owner’s have to charge this tax to all guests over the age of 12 years. The tax charge is £1.80 per person per night. This Tax charge will show as a separate item on your invoice, and will be payable with the final balance and breakage deposit one month before departure.

There is a cot and high chair available at no extra charge, but it must be requested at time of booking.

Booking Notes:
The apartment is generally booked for full weeks, but we will consider shorter breaks out of season.

Changeover Day:
During the high season July and August changeover day is Saturday, but it is always worth checking to see if we have flexibility out of the main season.

Arrival after 2pm, departure before 10am.

Deposit of 50% payable at time of booking (non refundable) with the balance, including breakage deposit and local tax due one month before departure.

For early bookings received before December 1st, a reduced initial deposit of 25% payable at the time of booking (non refundable), then 25% on January 1st, with the final balance, breakage deposit and local tax payable one month before departure.
