Property Description

The Ostlers House is a beautiful Grade II listed historic cottage located in the South Cotswolds, near the city of Bath. Originally dating back to the 1700’s and with links to Charles Dickens, it has a wealth of original features including flagstone floors and exposed oak beams throughout – particularly impressive in eaves of the master bedroom which also features original dovecotes. Given its historical significance, it was fully renovated by The Wiltshire Historic Buildings Trust in 2005 by master craftsmen and has been finished to a very high standard with luxuries such as underfloor heating and a log burner fire. There are two large bedrooms with king sized beds. There is also a spacious living area with a large dining table, as well as a fully equipped kitchen.

Being in the historic market town of Corsham (where Poldark was recently filmed), there are numerous pubs, restaurants and cafes within walking distance as well as a theatre and literally miles of brilliants walking routes. Bath is about 8 miles (under 30 mins) away and easily reachable by a direct bus. The house is also well located to explore the Cotswold’s and other historic areas of interest such as Castle Combe, Lacock, Glastonbury Tor, Silbury Hill and Stonehenge.
